My Out-of-Body Experience

I was just a little girl when this happened but I’ve always been smart for my age. My mother never lied to me and she taught me about God, Jesus, and the Devil. I don’t know exactly how old I was but I remember this experience very vividly.

I woke up in my mother’s and my bedroom, she was sound asleep. I was standing at the foot of the bed, when I noticed that I was laying next to her, also sound asleep. The lights were off but our room was glowing red. It looked like a red light was on in our room but at that age I had never seen a red light bulb.

I then saw myself wake up and sit down in the bed. Just then I saw the Virgin Mary appear at my side of the bed and without moving her lips asked the sleepy little me if I would go with her. And astonishingly, I heard myself respond telepathically. I said “I have to think about it,” and with that she disappeared.

I watched myself look at my mom and I thought about what she had told me about the Devil. She said that he comes in many disguises, that I had to be careful, and to always trust my first instinct to do what is right. When this Virgin Mary returned, she asked very sternly “What is your answer?” I told her simply “No.” She was enraged, she disappeared in a ball of flame and I could feel the heat on my face. I laid back down by my sleeping mother who was unaware of anything that had just happened. My room’s red glow dimmed and I couldn’t see myself anymore.

I awoke the next morning and as soon as I seen my mom, I ran to her and told her everything I had seen and everything that happened. She hugged me very tightly and when I looked at her face she was crying. She said “You did the right thing! I could’ve lost you!”

For years I had thought it was a dream, but when I recanted my experience to a woman I met that practices Santeria, she told me that what I had was an out-of-body experience, and that the reason she came to me as “Virgin Mary” is because of my deep faith in my Catholic religion.
