Movie Night With Dad
In the early fall of 2005, I was doing laundry and had just put a load of towels in the dryer. My youngest daughter was waiting for me to finish up so we could watch the movie that we had rented. We settled on the couch and were talking about how much her dad would have enjoyed watching it with us (he had passed away the previous March after a long illness).
About ten minutes into the movie, we heard a loud bang and she asked me what it could have been. I told her it sounded like the dryer door being slammed shut. I went into the laundry room, opened the door, and sitting right on top of the wet towels was her lime-green volleyball. I took it out, (it was COLD), and carried it into the living room. She took one look at it and freaked out. She had cleaned her room two days ago and had placed her volleyball in the top of her closet! We ran to check, and of course, it wasn’t there.
I got her calmed down, and we started watching the movie again. About twenty minutes later, we both saw the vacuum cleaner tip over and crash to the floor, SIDEWAYS! I guess he didn’t like the movie after all.
