Real Ghost Tales

I own a business cleaning the exteriors of houses, which includes cleaning the outsides of the windows. The heirs of a deceased owner of a house contacted me to replace screens and clean the exterior of a house in preparation for selling it.

This required me to make two trips to the location.  On the first trip, the heirs were present, moving out furniture, cleaning the inside, etc.

On the second trip, I was at the house by myself.  The house was completely empty, all furniture removed. As I was cleaning the outside of the last window, one located over the kitchen sink, I watched a figure pass right to left, in front of me, inside the house.  It was just inside the outer edge of the kitchen sink ledge.

The figure’s “hair” was gray, just covering the earlobes, slanting back toward the shoulders.  Facial features were not really sharp, but distiquishable.  What was very detailed, was the cloak the figure was wearing.  It was a teal green, heavily creased, hanging where the left shoulder would be, the side that passed closest to me.  The cloak had the appearance of a heavy curtain, as though it was being worn as a robe.

I could tell by the movement that the figure was not walking but floating. I watched it for about 3 seconds, long enough for me to move my head and follow it. As quickly as it appeared, it was gone. Wave after wave of chill bumps swept over my body, but no fear.  I even went inside the house to where it had passed.  Even as I write this, I get the same chill bumps.

As a follow up to this, I ask the person that bought the house if there had been any strange happenings.  I told the person not to think of me as crazy before I asked.  The owner told me muddy footprints were found on the carpet under the ceiling fan, but there was no source for the mud.  Lights would be turned out and doors locked at night prior to going to bed, but on awakening in the morning, the lights would be turned on and the doors opened.

Also, children, when they came to visit, told the owner they could hear people talking overhead in the back rooms of the house.
